He who dies with the most toys...still dies

Make no bones about it, I love technology. Being a gadget freak and a social hound I like the traction it creates among relationships. Networking and social sites have been a buzz for a few years now and I can not imagine myself living a life without them. Kind’ a makes me wonder 'How in the world did we live before their advent?' Ask yourself this question, do I use technology judiciously? If the answer is an emphatic YES, what follows may not interest you. Flashback to 2001: Americans made the mistake of relying too much on technology and not enough on human intelligence to interpret. As a race we haven’t learned enough from the incident as the 26/11 Mumbai incident shows. There is plenty available in the world to use. However, just because something is available, doesn't mean we have to use it! Here is another point of view. Misuse of technology makes us lose personal communication. Technology is terrific -- as long as it supports and enhances your cause and audience. Bu

Innocence of it all

I was asked this a few days back, “So, what do you do for a living?” Run my own business, I quipped. Made me wonder, ‘How right is it for me to call myself a business man?’. Our society associates the word with successful men with imported chauffeur driven vehicles, swanky bungalows and carats of gold on them, not ‘chokras’ who have got together for the sole purpose of contributing something to society (not that we plan to donate all that we earn). When I started off on this journey, I brought with me this rare excitement, enthusiasm and an undying spirit to achieve my goals. But like everybody who set out to achieve something I will have to reco

Lingering Uncertainty

The day was 02nd Mar, seven months down the line life has changed so drastically that I would fail to recognize it if I didn’t know better. An employee has taken the leap to become an employer; a grabber is turning into a contributor and a boy into a man. What started off as a fantasy, a dream, is reality today. Apprehension has morphed into belief, wish into hope and dreams into work. This is a story of an entrepreneur, a un-conventional one at that. My schooling and engineering has been from just-another institution, like some learned men (fathers of some of my friends) put it! But I’m glad I was not involved in the rat race to the top that early in my life. It has probably given me more time to concentrate on myself and have fun in general. But having worked alongside and finally managed wards of these schools, I now firmly believe that schools and colleges can only do so much to a kid’s development. What he faces in the world outside cannot be prepared for. There are no rules in t
